Before Everything Collapses’ is a photography project visualising the mental and physical feelings during Premenstrual Syndrome(PMS),which happens around one week before the menstruation. During PMS, each woman experiences a different degree of influence on the body and mind. Such as: depression, anxiety, headache, mood swings and sometimes even suicidal thoughts.

Integrating chemigrams, still life and portraiture, I explore PMS and feminine identity from different perspectives: nature, media and Self-observation. Through photography, I uncover an intimate bond between mother earth and females, shedding a unique light on the environmental and personal wars that we are experiencing. This project then expands to include the influence of the one-dimensional portrayals and stereotyping of women in contemporary media, and how this overshadowing results in a deep wound in the light of femininity. Swim against the current, highlighting the ongoing generational harm and trauma that must be exposed.
